Verification policy

How we think about trust on Meyvo—and what stays between tenants and owners.

Meyvo aims to reduce misleading listings through structured checks and clear expectations. Verification depth may vary by city, owner cooperation, and product maturity.

What we may collect or review (when applicable)

  • Aadhaar / government ID for identity matching (handled with care; see our Privacy Policy).
  • Address proof for owners and sometimes for tenants during onboarding flows.
  • Student verification (ID, enrollment letter, or institute email) where a listing is marketed for student residents.
  • Working professional verification (employment ID, offer letter, or HR email) where relevant.
  • Parent / guardian verification for minors or where owners require guardian consent.
  • Emergency contacts collected for safety and incident response where configured.
  • Police verification / tenant verification where legally applicable and voluntarily provided.

Property and conduct expectations

  • Many properties enforce no smoking and no alcohol rules—always confirm the latest rules with the owner before paying a deposit.
  • Security deposits vary by property. Amounts, refunds, and deductions are contractual matters between you and the owner—not guaranteed by Meyvo.
  • Owners should be aware of local property registration requirements where applicable. Meyvo does not provide legal advice.

Important disclaimer

Meyvo acts only as a listing and discovery platform. Final rental agreements, verification, trust decisions, move-in conditions, and disputes remain between tenants and PG / property owners. Meyvo is not liable for theft, injury, harassment, financial loss, or disagreements arising from on-ground arrangements.

If you see a listing that appears fraudulent or unsafe, report it— listings that violate our policies may be removed.
